i have a 2002 pontiac aztek my rear hatch will not open when you put key in you can hear it trying and when you push button but it will not open

rear hatch will not open when you push button makes noise like it wants to open if you put key in hatch same thing ive checked the fuse all good and checked number 28 all good under sit is connected as well lost right now

Your going to have to try and open it from the inside. Your going to want to remove the panel and find the latch you either have a bad servo motor on the lock or it popped off or broke off in the door. Try first spraying some wd40 into the lock. Make sure you have a paper towel held under it in case it leaks out. If the WD don't get it open then your taking a panel off and its going to be a pain since they are not meant to be taken off while closed in most cases

Maybe you have a actuator switch of your doors and everything are all automatic that went out there for when you push the button it will not release it depending on the year of the car is kind of hard find he said it was for my 2004 Mazda but you could always go in manually to the seeds Prophet open and then adjust the spring inside and mechanism just a little bit and see if it was by work again thats what my machine was ablr to do ... he a great onr
