Question type: Shopping & Pricing
Hi. I'm trying to purchase a car for my 18 year old
son. A co-worker has a 2002 pontiac bonneville
for 800.00. She says its nothing wrong just needs
the normal oil change and tune up.

And your question is? Any car that is running and driving and inspected will cost you around $800. 4 dr sedans are the cars you want for young driver due to safety and insurance rates. Just have some extra money around in case of repairs.
If you can afford to lose $800 it might be worth the gamble.
Reasonable but realize there is probably something you will need to do to it to suit your own inspection requirements. People tend to overlook things just because they are used to them. Good to determine why the person is selling the vehicle. The mileage recorded on the car and any substantial repairs should also be disclosed.
