Car is idleing very rough lost a lot of power when accelerating and losing a lot of gas

2 days ago my car was running fine my fuel sensor was bad so i never knew how much
gas i had i just guesed based on mpg then i drove to work knowing i should still have at
least 15 miles left in the tank but it wouldnt start put gas was ok so i thought i was
wrong the next day same problem so i put more gas then i drove home parked it then
went to go to the store tryed to start the car it started really rough went to leave and it
was running very bad no power when i give it gas and also sounds bad idles very rough
has a rich smell to it it seams as if i have a miss or its not running on all cylinders any
suggestions?

Fuel preasure regulator or fuel filter if you ran it dry or fuel injectors are bad. Or the fuel pump is starting to fail but fuel pump will usally work or it won't if electronic. When you run a tank low you can burn out the electrict pump or you will pick up all the crap on the bottom of the tank

dont know if this will help any but today i went to drive the car to work and for about 2 to 3 miles the car drove fine normal then at a red light it started idleing real high and no power and it also seems like its getting hot but the temp gauge is reading hot

That could be a sign of a head blown head gasket. check your oil and see if it looks milky and anti freaze an seeif there is oil in it allso are you getting steam out of your exghaust?

I know this is late but I had the same problem it could be bad coils check your coils to see if they are rusted. I replaced mine car is faster sounds and is better then ever

Same problem. Changed out ignition coils and car runs great. Also did plugs, wires and vacuum lines because they were starting to dry rot.
