Headlights

Asked by Jackiestar Apr 10, 2017 at 02:21 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Firebird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Pontiac Firebird and when I turn the
headlights to the on position the headlights go down
and turn on. When I switch to the off position the
headlights pop up and go off.

Thank you for any help in this matter.

Has the wiring to the motors been worked on lately? Sounds like a connector or wiring is backwards to them.

Yes. Last year I had to swap out the plastic gear inside the motors for brass ones. Although the wires look idiot proof :( I will swap them and see what happens. Thanks for the help and I'll let you know what happens.

This is weird. When I match the wires to the correct colors I have the proble. When I reverse the wires ( like in this photo) it fixes the problem.
