Firebird down

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2000 firebird 3.8 is acting up. When I’m
driving the rpm and coolant and fuel
indicator will drop to nothing, then go to
normal. This happens at lest 8 times in a
five min period. Car shifts fine. And of
course the check engine light comes on.
Autozone checked it and said there’s a
miss fire.... would a miss fire cause my
gauges to break dance?

Could very well be because everything is controlled by the computer your gauges etc. the engine management systems all of it so could be I would determine what's going on with the misfire before I go forward on anything else! What's the number of the code that they found do a search on it and see what it entails?
The computer that was used said...random miss fire.
Is that all it spit out that one word or did it possibly give you codes numbers that way you can search online to see what the actual problem is? If I was you I would go buy a code reader yourself you can get them for 15 to $20 on Amazon and check the thing out yourself that way you might be able to find some numbers in might actually have had a code in the computer and you can read it and then it will give you an indication what's going on. Have you checked your spark plugs lately that's usually a problem with misfiring Additionally you got to check your wiring harness's to make sure that your wiring harnesses are connected look underneath the dash and the engine compartment to make sure there's nothing loose?
