my cd player keeps kicking out the cd for no reason. what could cause this?

i noticed a few days ago that my cd player in my van has started to kick out cds and acts like its is doing it all the time even with the car off. i dont know why it has started to do this.

Probably the sensor is worn out and cannot detect the CD...13 years old now assuming original player. I had to change mine and ran in to a few problems because of the security system in the van. It won't power on the new radio/player if the player's code does not jive with the car's computer. In the end, I wired the new system up to the old wiring but ran the main power line to the fuse box.
