Question type: Maintenance & Repair

son took starter off, forgot where wires went. Have 4 blacks and 1 red. Because of the eyelids or connectors at the end of the wire was able to figure out figured out 4 of the 5 wires only because of the terminal at the end of the wire. End of fifth wire is bare. Originally connected it to the terminal with the rest of the black wires but didn't hear it clicking when turning the ignition. place it with the red wire and the starter kicks in and out continuously. Doesn't sound right. Figure would quit before I fried something.
