Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have 97 Firebird Base 3.8, DOHV radiator bad replaced it, fill with fluids, leaking out
without starting it around the water pump, new water pump and gasket. Water is pouring
out top front side over the water pump, no water in any of fluids? Can you tell me what
needs to be replace before then?

Inspect the belt tensioner assembly. It has coolant passages connected via plastic pipes with O-rings. Check out this video. I know it's not a Pontiac but your engine will have these pipes also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFiICANvre4 If that's not it, there are other gaskets and seals that could cause the leaks. Look at item numbers 547; 541; 542; and 535 on the diagram in the following link: http://www.tonkinonlineparts.com/images/parts/gm/fullsize/980518GM00-360.JPG

Awesome Ty guys Found them and got the aluminum ones ready so far new radiator new hoses new water pump and gasket next new thermostat with gasket and new heater hoses should be pretty much set :D! appreciate the help very much thanks to you both for the quick response!
