Theft system 1997 Pontiac sunfire

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I rebuilt an engine for a Pontiac sunfire recently just put
the engine back in. By the way this is being built for a
stock car. I've been having the issue where the car will
turn over then start but will only stay running for at most 2
seconds. My theft systems light is on, on the dash I
figured maybe that is the issue seems how the engine was
pulled and disconnected from the car I've replaced all
sensors and what not but is there any advice on how to
reset this theft system?

Its not the theft system unless you pulled the instrument cluster and changed that or the PCM was changed (computer) scan it for DTC codes. Whats the fuel pressure at the fuel rail PSI
If it is not the theft system why is the theft system light lit up? And stays lit up?

Ok try the drill to reset it, 1.Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON. The vehicle will not start. 3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF. 4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds. 5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. Start the engine.
I have done that process multiple times today the theft systems is still active
