Could someone ID a part for me?
I have a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville with 240K miles on it. This car is amazing; I still go between oil changes without adding any oil. Drives well and gets good fuel economy for its size.
Today Iâm looking for some info about a part that none of the chain part stores can identify. The part is a large frame part that spans the width of the vehicle. Also runs from the firewall to the front bumper. The engine is cradled by it and the lower control arms attach to it. The torsion bar pillow blocks also mount there. The point where it mounts to the car body is isolated by a rubber grommet shaped isolator. There is one set of mounts at the far end of this part and another about 8-10 inches closer in toward the engine. These bushings are behind the driverâs side tire Iâm guessing directly below the foot pan of the driver.
Does anybody have an idea what these isolators would be called and also how to install them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
