False pricing

Asked by Tom Dec 03, 2019 at 09:12 AM about the 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Why do you allow these fraudulent adds to be posted on your site?

Listing clearly states the vechile is CPO, then at the bottom of a 3 page
discription I find this: "Ready to be certified! This premium Hyundai has been
reconditioned with genuine Hyundai parts and past the requirements of
Hyundai to be certified. Pricing shown doesn't include the Hyundai
certification. Although the very stringent reconditioning has already been
done to be Hyundai certified the transfer of the 10 year 100,000 warranty and
the roadside assistance have not. Please contact us with any questions
regarding the additional cost to transfer the Hyundai certification that is not
shown in the advertised price".

This is the 3rd vehicle I have researched on CarGurus that contained this
false pricing.

Cargurus probably doesn't like it, nor has time to police it. If you want, read the Terms of Us, link at the bottom of the page, on where Cargurus stands. If you are annoyed and want to let someone at Cargurus know, use the Contact Us link, this is a public forum area.

Had a problem with a listing price on your site from AutoNation in North Fort Worth,TX. Here's the listing. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/new/searchresults.action? sourceContext=NewCarsTab&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c28918&distance=150 &zip=76049#listing=241336078 Note that the price shown is clearly $19,600. HOWEVER, after I drove 50+ miles to see the car, I was informed that the price was actually about $1300 HIGHER for "tiint etc.." that they add to all their cars. Very deceptive practices AutoNation. Buyer Beware. Tom Fisher Granbury, TX

To F_O_R: These car search sites (not just this site) are all proclaining "GREAT DEAL" or "GOOD DEAL" when the prices listed are simply not accurate. You find listings for CPO vehicles that want to charge $1000 extra for the CPO warranty, and listings with "Dealer Documentation Fees" up to $799 that are not included in the listed prices. This practice invalidates the entire premise of ranking vehicle pricing values.
