can bad oil or oil build build up over time make a 1992 pontiac firebird die while it is running?

let my car sit for awhile just wondering if the soultion would be new oil pump and lines

Bad oil won't stall an engine, but it will wipe out the bearings and rings if you run the engine. You can pick up a cheapo oil pressure gauge and hook it up temporarily to see what's going on with the oil pump if you're worried about it. Sounds like you have some other engine issue however - agree with Tom, sounds mostly like a fuel issue, or dirty TB or dirty fuel filter.

oh and yes i did change oil/filter and used fuel stabilizer, but it didnt help for very long! thank you guys for the help, there will be more needed, seeing as how i can now not get my hood open due to a broken hood release cable....LOL
