Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Platinum Cars in Toronto have a 2003 Boxster (Tiptronic) listed at $14,800.
Your valuation is $9,480.........why is it so low?

Probably dealer vs private sales prices. 15 grand is on the high side for a 2003 Boxster.

Are you really telling me I could buy a similar car privately for $9,480 or buy from a dealer at $14,800?

Shop around dude. Most people complain about high prices, not low ones. I have shopped Boxsters and I can tell you 15 grand is on the high side but if you want to spend the money go ahead and buy this one.

I’m complains about the difference between a real life price of $14,800 and Car Gurus valuation of less than $10,000. The valuation is too low........obviously. This big a difference does not help anyone. Incidentally, the vehicle in question is an automatic/Tiptronic which should make it worth less........but not as low as $10,000.

Dealer asking prices are often times a fantasy. I guess they found someone who will fight to pay an extra 5 grand.

You are one poor communicator. Use the CG's value as a tool to negotiate a better price. You can also look up prices on Edmund's, Blue Book, NADA etc, etc.
