If it's in park it will rev ? I had a few clunkers that would do this , motor would rev. up in park or neutral but would not accelerate or rev. up in gear . Hit the gas and nothing , Never found out why .
I changed spark plugs wires condenser cap and rotor runs good in idle put in gear no power

i font oil in cooling system but no coolant in oil . i flushed system and replaced coolant and cap . drove it about 7 miles and it overheated . shut eng off notice came on and temp gag went to red ....
