Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1996 Lexus ES300 - rear running lights (inner two sets, left & right) do not come on when lights are turned on.  All other lights functional.  Why will the tail running lights not come on?

Took vehicle to Lexus specialty shop. Rear light relay burned out. Seems Toyota / Lexus do not manufacture part any longer as it was only used on 1995/1996 model years. Technician by-passed relay. Lights function properly. Negatives - indicator light on dash will no longer execute if a bulb is out on rear lights. No worries there.

96 es300 does not have drl. it has auto on / auto off. of the lights, if you have the auto lights on, all of the lights front and back should be on. that being said, if the "tail lights out" or burnt out bulb warning light is not on, on the dash....the lil incandescent warning light is prob burnt out. if you cycle the key from key out to run. you should see the warning light for a sec.
