Lexus es300

Asked by Deva Dec 09, 2018 at 01:31 PM about the 1997 Lexus ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mom gave me a Lexus es300.  It
has not been driven or moved out of a
yard for 2 years.  I am draining the oil,
and replacing it as well as the oil filter.
Same for antifreeze.  No gas when it
was parked, so I'll  add gas.  Replaced
the battery. Is there anything else I
need to do before I try to start it?

If the fuel tank is easy to get out I would remove and clean it, the several gallons of gas that have been there for years is well on its way to turning to varnish. If you don't clean the tank put in enough gas to mix with the junk in the tank. Actually try smelling the fuel fill if it doesn't smell like old paint, fuel it and go. I hope this helps. take care
