check engine warning light

Asked by Manny Jul 16, 2020 at 11:09 PM about the 2007 Lexus ES 350 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We own a 2007 Lexus ES 350.Just a day after it passed smog, the flashing
check warning light and VSC warning light came on. I got it scanned at Auto
Zone. They said a coil was bad .Several questions.
Are the VSC light and bad coil separate issues or relate?
Is it cheaper to replace just the 1 bad coil, or should I replace all coils and
spark plugs all at once, since the mechanic says he has to take off the
manifold anyways.

Auto Zone has coils, but so does parts geek. Don't pay more than what the part is worth. For a check warning light, I'd go first to my air filter ( a dirty filter doesn't help the MAF match what it needs). I know little about Lexus BUT I just had a purge valve problem with my VW that threw on my check light. Consider this option. Research where it is and change it, for a car that old. good luck
