Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Until now I've had a Lexus dealership swap my summer wheels for my winter
wheels twice a year since 2013. I chose to do it myself this year. I located the
tire pressure warning reset button and reset it. The warning light is not
illuminated. How do I cause the TPMS to recognize the winter wheels and
display the tire pressures?

The dealership (Lexus of Richmond Hill) has told me the onboard programming can accept only 4 tire pressure monitor tire pressures at a time for the 2013 Lexus ES300h. So when wheels are changed twice a year for winter or summer, to keep the monitor working the system must be reprogrammed at the dealership. (This design error has been corrected for more recent models).
