Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Asked by AILibby Oct 03, 2018 at 01:23 PM about the 2016 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Limited
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I need a Tire Pressure Monitoring System installed on my 2016 Subaru
Forester. I live in Tampa, Florida and none of the local dealerships will do it.
Any idea where I can have this installed?
Thanks!

Buy an aftermarket system. Any tire shop can install the sensors. Amazon has systems for $60.
I have a hard time believing your car does not already have the system. My 2015 Forester premium has it and yours is a higher trim level.
Hi ED92626 and F_O_R Thanks for the advice. To answer your questions, we imported the vehicle after a move from Canada to the US, and it apparently the TPMS isn't installed in Canadian vehicles. In order to register the vehicle here in the US, we need this to be factory installed. Hence our search for a Subaru dealership that will install a TPMS for us. Ideally we get it installed at a Subaru dealership so if anyone on this forum reads this thread and knows of one in Florida, that would be great! We have reached out to Subaru here and in Canada and neither have been very helpful. Thanks!
This is why you don't import "grey market" cars. Typically you get NO support from manufacturers for such issues. Good luck!

A US import is not grey market. I legally imported a Subaru from the US years ago when the Canadian buck was close to par. I saved thousands. It has daytime running lights which are not mandatory in the US. All safety stickers are in both English and French. The warranty transferred over as well. I started blogging about it then a few years later Subaru stopped honouring the warranty when thousands of Canadians started doing it. The only drawback... I didn’t know how to spend all the money I saved.
