can a cylinder pump on a vue 2003 rear door be fixed?

The door falls down in the winter. It stays up when it is warm.

or just get a pair of vice grips and leave them in the back- grab the rod right under the shock- you will hit your head when you unclamp it tho- OK, Tom is right, just go get new ones-
