Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2005 Subaru Forester a little while ago and it
seems like it's shifting up late and down shifting early and it
never fully reaches operation temp I think it might be to
help it warm up faster not sure would like some outside
input on the matter

Huh? WHAT doesn't get up to temp? The coolant? If so check to see that your t-stat isn't stick open...but that's VERY rare. But the ECM and TCM use temp sensors to dance properly, so get the coolant sorted out. THEN see if the transmission behaves correctly. Regardless, change its ATF if you haven't in two years or more. I've already changed the ATF. It is the coolant that doesn't reach temp, and I'll look into the T-stat and the CTS see if either of those are the culprit. Anything else I might be overlooking?

If you swap the t-stat be sure to use an OEM size "larger orifice" clone, or you'll risk overheating at speed...especially in summer w/ AC on. Only other reason might be that the cooling fans are stuck on all the time. But since they're controlled now by the ECM it's unlikely. Keep us posted. Ern TSG/B
