Does anyone know where to find a pawl for a
79 elcamino ... I can’t seen to find one for this
year only 72 and older

I'm lucky and have old retired toolmaker in the neighborhood. For a case of beer he would duplicate a part like that when a replacement can't be found at a reasonable price.
