Is there a problem with using the current gas that has 10% ethanol in a 79 Triumph Spitfire?

Yeah- forget the ethanol- it will gum those SUs up- get some pure gas, if you are at an airport or in Cali- there are places to get it-

If I can not find pure regular gas, is there an additive that will help?

no, don't use additives- don't go down that road- keep looking for gas without ethanol, but go ahead and run the pump gas- it would be a long time before it affects your carbs- by that time they will need to be addressed anyway, no doubt- just keep the gas in your tank fresh, don't let it sit for any length of time-
