i would change the filter and oil asap.... then report back....
Probably has plugged oil pickup screen from lack of maint. or debris of some kind. Changing the oil and filter will be of no help. The pan needs to be dropped for inspection. If it is clattering then no need to verify the oil pressure is low.
Uhhh, it's got 215,000 miles on it so it went a long way before it was found on the road dead.
I just finishing up changing the oil pump on my 03 expedition and after taking the old pump apart i dont think it was a bad oil pump, when I was cleaning all the parts I noticed the screen on the oil pump sump was totally clogged, so when I changed the oil and filter and put a qt of lucas oil treatment in it it was just too thick for the pump to pick up while clogged :-(. the timing chains tensioners on both side was busted and the chains was slack so I went ahead and change both chains and installed new tensioners when I put it back together.
