First Gas Fumes are very flammable, keep hot lights and sparks away. This lock-ring & gasket O-ring holds the sending unit in the tank. if you have a drain plug you can drain the gas tank there, if not it would be easier to take tank out of car. The ring can be carefully turned by using a punch and light force from your hand or a small hammer. Again be careful Gas fumes are very flammable. The sending unit grounds through the lock-ring so be sure to have a clean serface on tank.
