How can I get my turn signal to cancel on my 1963 Ford Falcon Futura?

Asked by chris14ono Jul 15, 2016 at 08:02 AM about the 1963 Ford Falcon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the turn signal switch with the canceling cam built into it.  I
have also replaced the steering wheel with a NOS steering wheel/horn ring.
However the steering wheel does not seem to have the part that will cause
the turn signal to cancel. Is there a plastic part that mounts on the steering
wheel sleeve that slides over the steering shaft that is called a turn signal
canceling cam PLATE?  If so how do I mount it.

quite an esoteric problem there- maybe those old signals didn't automatically cancel?- or maybe it would just be easier to drive and cancel them yourself- does it have that feature where you just push the stalk, not all the way to stay, there is a small resistance before it clicks into place? That's the way I drive just hold it and signal then release- it goes back into place- I think this is a feature in all turn signal switches- anyway, there's my input-

yes they cancel. mine is a 63 conv. and for the right signal i have to lift it really hard to the point of fear of breaking the stock at some point.
