When it broke down I was driving it and it started
over heating and slowing down it wouldn't let me
accelerate and it was making a clicking sound so I
pulled over and when I tried to start it it was just
clicking....

Check the fan belt to see if it is broken. Determine the cause of the overheating problem. Check the voltage of the battery. If dead, probably a bad alternator.
