Hard to start when at operating temp.

Car starts fine when cold. But after it warms up and I stop, say at the store for maybe 10 minutes and try to start it the starter will barely turn over. The temp. gauge shows good and it does not act or smell like it is overheating. New batterie less then a year ago.
Any ideas?

eather the starter is going bad or timeing belt ,chain has sliped.
