You may have a new bad alternator, does it hold the voltage at around 14.2 volts with all the loads turned on and the engine running at 2000 RPM?

Im having the same issue. Service charging system,in our 2011 traverse. Replaced battery and alternator but didnt fix the problem. Paperwork with the reman alternator from napa says it was checked after being rebuilt and was charging at 14v. I can jump the car and it will hold at 14v but as soon as I disconnect the jumper cables the car dies

I have the same issue in my 09 Chevy Traverse. Have yet to figure out how to fix it. However, we have noticed that it comes on with high RPM. So it doesn’t come on when driving in town. We keep it off the highway for now and it does just fine.

I'm having the same issue with my 2011 Traverse. Mechanic checked battery, alternator and reconnected the wires. Unsure whether it's safe to drive any distance.

Hi, I'm having some of the same issues. Battery charging system comes on had the alternator replaced because I was told it was bad. Problem still exist. Replaced battery and new alternator under warranty and the problem stop for a while but has reappeared. Only this time the battery charging system comes on seldomly and as I drive the battery will sometimes goes back up to the middle line and indicator light will go off. Some days I get in the care and have no problem at all. I wish there is a valid answer for this because it's quite frustrating. My vehicle is a 2012 traverse.

I noticed the wire coming off the post on the Alternator is breakup and very brittle some of the stranded wires are breaking between there and the battery start post. I have checked battery and Alternator and now up to changing this wire to the tune of $78 and removing a motor mount to get to the starter wire to disconnect. I will respond to this thread if this fixes my 2009 LTZ 170,000 Love vehicle but hate some of its issues
