Will a 2006 Ford escape 3.0 engine fit
in my 2001 Ford escape 3.0?

It might fit but you will have operational issues. Perhaps you could swap in the engine wiring and ECU and get it to run correctly or maybe you could swap all the old sensors and fuel injection into the newer engine..........................
