2006 Dodge Grand Caravan shuts off while driving

Asked by persevere777 May 27, 2014 at 11:23 AM about the 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan shuts off when I am slowing down or coming to a stop. I
took it to a mechanic and was told he could not find any problem. I am worried it might
eventually cause an accident. Recently it shuts off wile I was making a turn while going
over a bridge, I had a difficult time getting it to stop. Had to put in in park while it was still
moving so I could turn it back on.

I'd have to write a twenty page dissertation on every thing I see wrong here-from driver to mechanic. PLEASE - GET OFF THE ROAD for your safety and that of others.

Dodge has now recalled Grand Caravans to replace the ignition switch because of this problem. Check with a dealer whether or not you have had a problem.
