Is it a fuel pump issue?

I have a 2002 dodge Dakota rt. The fuel pump is
only pumping air. I just put gas in it and it's at 1/2
tank so I know it's not low on fuel. This is a first for
me.

Disconnect the line from fuel pump to Fuel Filter, grab a bowl to catch any gas spilling, Turn Key to On Position if gas comes out alot then good the Fuel pump is working. Now reconnect what you just did then disconnect the line from Fuel Filter to Engine and see if its Clogged
