Is my 2009 Subaru an X or an XT

Asked by CassieDG Feb 14, 2019 at 07:51 PM about the 2009 Subaru Forester

Question type: General

Hi, dumb question from a car novice here. I have a 2009 Subaru Forester. I
am taking it for new tires and I am trying to get a price quote before I go. But
the tire shop's website asks for make, model, and "option" - X, X Limited, X
Premium, XT, or XT Limited. I have no idea what it is. I got the car used and
I have the owners manual but it seems to cover all options in general. I
thought there was something in the VIN that would tell me but I'm not sure
what it is. Anyone know how to identify it?

The X is the base model. The XT is the turbo which is easy to identify if you look under the hood. The top of the line models will probably have leather upholstery. Does your car title say what model it is? Search for tires by size rather than model. Look for the tire size on the tire sidewall.
