Subaru forrester xt 05 pro pack

thought it had a blow on the manifold or exhaust system close to the engine
bay. can't find any soot or blowing gases while running. noise is coming from
front right of the engine as u look at the car front the front, tapping noise with
has engine light on, sounds just like a blowing gasket or hole in the exhaust
pipe. any light u can shed on my problem please.
