my ford taurus gear shift is jammed and key will not turn

Have you tried wiggling the steering wheel,and turning key,?

I agree with TST 100% but if your front tire(s) are pushed on a curb or parking bumper you may have to relieve the pressure first. Get it off the curb if that is the situation

I know not as easy as it sounds. IF your car is pressed on a curb you may need a yank from another vehicle
