My 1999 safari van want start When turn the key

do you hear the clicking noise and is it turning over?. Most of the starting issues with the safari is spark related. Pull off your dog house and replace the plugs wires and rotor. And try to get some plastic sleves for your wires since safaris are nitoriously sparky regardless of how new the wires are.

always suspect battery first. if and small interior light is on (if interior engine cover glove compartment is not closed tight, the little light in it stays on?) this can weaken your battery. Try a boost. If it starts, have the alternator tested at a battery shop (usually for free) to make sure it is charging battery sufficiently. They can also check the battery for you. If it wont start with a boost it can be the starter that is the problem. This is very common and not terribly expensive to replace. To test this have someone turn the key to start the vehicle while you lay under and hit the starter HARD with a hammer. Often after years of service the starter developes a dead spot. I have had a fleet of these vans in my business and this will start it. if it does, than drive to a garage and have the starter replaced. Its about a half hour job to change a starter, so dont let them hose you on labour charges. ask for a quote in advance. Phone around for a few quotes.
