I have a 98 safari van it keeps boug out on take off and i smell gas after i shut it off i replaced plugs and the calatec is not pluged what could it be

These vehicles have a closed pressurized fuel system. if you can smell gas, chances are you have a gas leak somewhere. It could be in the fuel lines, or if you can see it, check the top of the gas tank. The sending unit drops in from the top and there is a round metal locking cover that notoriously rots out on these. The bogging would explain the fuel leak. Is your check engine light on? There is also a fuel pressure sensor that mounts at the top of the tank that measures fuel pressure.
No leaks on the ground any ware jyst smells like fas ween i turn it off and the eng lite is not on
