It runs fine for a while and then when
we're out on the highway it starts
cutting out and acting like it's going
to die or get no gas and it backfires

I've changed the fuel pump twice, it still same. It's hard to start backfires, seeme like no gas to the carberstor.
I'm pretty sure it is the fuel line filter right under the driver side door. Please let me know if you try this and if that was a fix or not. Thank you.
