VW super beetle 1971 (TL 1.6L) cylinders 1 & 2 not working.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

VW super beetle 1971 (TL 1.6L) cylinders 1 & 2 not working. Engine was
recently re-bult with 88 mm cylinders and had been working good for about a
day or so. Heads were re-build. new carburator. I have verified compression
(>120 psi), timing, it has spark to all cylinders, anyway had replaced coil and
distributor, spark pulgs and cables, verified valve calibration, firing order, etc.
but still these two cylinders do not work. Any ideas or suggestions on where
to look, will be greatly appreciated.

Hi: We were able to figure it out: a vaccuum leak in the intake manifold was preventing the proper fuel/air mix to get to the cylinders. New gaskets and appropriate torquening fixed the problem. Took us a lot of time to fugure it out since the engine was just repaired. Just to share a happy solution of a problem with our fellows. Thanks.
