How many miles? If it has high miles consider the fuel pump and of course ignition is always suspect so get to a scanner to read codes.
Is it an automatic or manual could be bad torque converter.
But the engine stalls while going down the road, A locked converter will stall the engine at idle and if the converter just goes bad they usually free rev. But who knows
