My 4.7 Dodge 2009 Ram is burning oil with no leaks. What could the problem be?

Its a chrysler product. Thats how they roll. So to speak. Got 3 police chargers in the shop now. Motors are ticking ones smoking real bad. Now thats quality! Its burning it somehow. Either rings or valve seals something to that effect. Get rid of the darn thing
The piston rings are most likely lined up. And while I disagree with kbro about chrysler products, I do think that there's no point in the 4.7L. The 5.7L hemi gets better fuel mileage and has more power. And no, kbro, burning oil is not "how they roll". By the way your ticking and smoking is probably due to the cam rollers walking and, therefore, not letting the valves close all the way. You can hate on the cop cars all you want, but they do get beat up on the road. Lets see how your car does running 16 hours a day.
It is how they roll i work at a dealer and see it all the time. The vans drink oil the wrangler drinks oil i see it everyday thete guy people come in bitchin about their crappy chrylser. Its not just the cop cars that have motor trouble although i do agree they are rode hard. The one that is apart now has wiped out a few lobes on the cam. Its donezo. The new 3.6 are having problems with the cylinder heads. Yes every brand has their problems i just hate chrylsers cuz thats what i see all the time they have the most problems with the lowest miles out of anything i deal with. And the warranty pays shit compared to ford and chevy. You could almost take a ford warranty time an cut it in half for a chrylser warranty time. Its terrible.
Ford warratny is actually pretty fair "most" of the time.

What the chrysler guy is telling me is that the oil pressure is to low at idle on the charger. And they idle about 10x more than someone else would. The motors are starving for oil at idle i forget what he said was the spec. I think he said 5psi but quote me on that.
Yeah, I've heard that too about the oil pressure. But you might still check the cam rollers, because I've seen quite a few where the roller starts digging into the guide. Then it'll fall off the valve and hold it open.
