Hi I have 3 years left on my 2009 kia spectra warranty.  Do tune ups usually get covered under this warranty?

A tune-up is considered maintenance under Kia's warranty and is something you would be responsible for completing. On your Spectra the spark plugs are scheduled to be replaced every 30,000 miles, though I've seen some go 60,000.

your spectra comes with platinum plugs which are to be replaced at 60,000 miles.if you should develope a misfire or a plug should fail in that time it would be covered under the factory warranty. they are not covered for replacement as maintenance item.

Should be covered under the 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain coverage for the original owner. Second owner would be covered under the 5 year/60,000miles warranty only.
