Is a subaru forester a good car?

Asked by Guru2SVJH Feb 27, 2020 at 02:58 PM about the 2010 Subaru Forester

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am a high school senior, going to college next year (Also a farm kid so I know
how to work on vehicles). I'm looking into buying a 2010 Subaru Forester with
168,500 miles for which they want $3000. Would this be a smart buy? Note I
will more than likely be driving 2 hours to college and back once every week or
two.

These are reasonably good cars. If you can, have the car checked out by a mechanic familiar with Subaru's before buying. Make sure the head gaskets don't leak and that the timing belt change was done on schedule (at 105,000 miles). As always offer LESS.
