2010 Altima Battery replacement

2010 Altima battery failing. If I buy a different brand battery (not a Nissan), will it hurt the IPDM Box?  I had a 2005 Pathfinder once and bought a battery.  It was not a nissan battery.  The IPDM box went out.  They said it was because I did not use a genuine Nissan battery.

Any car battery that fits will work. The story you were given is pure, unadulterated Bovine Excrement.
