Has anyone experienced their vehicle shuting down while driving, all by itself?

I had an 87 Bonneville that did it a few times (back in the day)... I had a bad PCM.. Luckily it was on recall and was replaced at no cost.. Chances are though, you may just have a loose battery connection. If it is not a battery and becomes a repeat problem.. Take it back to the dealer and file a warranty claim..
Several different dealers have come across the same problem and they're telling the customers that since the engine is not capturing a fault and we can't repeat it, there's nothing we can do for you. I heard Nissan is having a recall for the same problem on their cars.
Besides, the car is only 6 months old. It's had two shut downs and a misfire already. Not what I expected from KIA.
They are feeding you crap.. If you have had the car shut down on you twice, they are obligated to discover the problem. Code or no code.. Does not matter..
KIA rebooted both computers with new software (so they told me). Waiting to see if it happens again. I did notice that after reboot, the car is slow to respond to fuel.

Has anyone experience their car stop all of a sudden? I have a 2016 Kia Sorento what could it be?
Sorry to tell you guys but this is a major, common and seemingly infixable Kia problem. Look at any Kia forum or google "Kia engine shut off" - you will get hundreds of hits. I have had the same issue with my 2005 Sorento shutting down every time the engine is under load above 2000 revs. 4 garages and 3 years later, I cannot wait to dump the heap of scrap. No other issues with the car, but cutting out on fast highways at speed is simply dangerous. Kia are totally uninterested. Do not buy Kia!
this shutoff thing has happened with our 2011 KIA twice now. Nothing else wrong, just shuts down. Thankfully, it happened at very low speeds both times, once while backing up, my duaghter put it in Drive and it just stopped and everything locked. It started back up after about 90 seconds or so. The other time she was at a light and when she started to go, it shut off and locked up. Again, it started after about a mintue or so. it is scary to have this be an unfixable issue.
FIXED. 2013 Kia Sorento. One day coasting along the road the car just sputtered and died. Was able to restart, but driving home later it stalled at a red light. The next morning, difficulties starting the engine. Had the camshaft position sensor replaced and the issue was resolved.
I noticed that my 2016 Kia Sorento would only shutdown on me when I had it in Sport Mode. It has never done it in Eco mode, so that is where I keep it. That happened several years ago. I recently had to have the throttle body replaced, so not sure if that would have fixed the Sport mode issue, too afraid to try it. So even though my vehicle has those different mode options, I don't benefit from those features. I loved my 2008 Kia Spectra, ran like a charm, but I'm not as impressed with the newer Kia Sorento.

Yep 2016 Kia Sorento just shuts off while driving. No diagnostic lights appear, radio stays on, dealer mechanic doesn't see any codes. Dealer mechanic reports 'loose battery terminal' corrected. We'll see. Car has been a complete lemon due to other issues, this is only the latest.
Fixed Kia Sorento 2013. Car would turn off while coasting or idling at light. Scary and dangerous. After much research discover Kia camshaft sensor was the issue. A failing camshaft position sensor begins losing its ability to quickly transfer data. Mismatched fuel delivery and ignition timing, even if off by a few milliseconds, will cause your vehicle to sputter, accelerate poorly, lack power, stall or even shut off. Had Kia replace it 2 years ago and "knock on wood" no issues since.
