Cannot activate Bluetooth on GMC Acadia

I have recently purchased GMC Acadia 2011 but cannot activate bluetooth
on it. I tried everything as instructed on internet websites but the problem is
each time I failed at very first step. While following the user manual, I
switched on BT on my mobile phone then pressed & held BLUETOOTH
button on steering for 2 or more seconds but the car did not generate any
beep, nor any voice message prompted instructing to pair up the device.

Each time on pressing bluetooth button, my car's deck displays a message
"Audio Muted". Please assist me what & where could be the problem & how
to fix it.

I have a 2010 Acadia, The Bluetooth is crazy with mine. It will work when making a phone call but mine won’t Bluetooth music at all. I actually have a small portable speaker that I have to keep. Also headlight issues is unbelievable. I don’t think it’s possible to keep both bulbs burning, I’ve had them professionally fixed at least 7 times. No luck. Thank god for the fog lights :(
