2011 VW Jetta radio

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi my daughter's radio went out on her 2011 vw jetta last week. The radio will not come on and the screen is black. Her phone will still connect with the bluetooth. We have tried the hard restart with no luck.  We have looked at the fuses but we are unsure of which fuses to check.  Can anyone give us any advise?

There is a fuse in the back of the radio. The plastic cover pops off, 4 bolts and the radio will come out...I haven’t gone further with finding the fuse yet...I have this issue too... original battery in mine! About a month ago the radio randomly quit. Yesterday it wouldn’t turn over... lost all power. Put a charger on it, it started! I’m hoping it starts today to bring to VW he did say the bad battery could make the radio quit but he isn’t sure till he looks into it...

The fuse on the back of the radio when you pull the module out is underneath the main wire harness. I am having the same issue with my stereo system in my 2011 VW Jetta SE. I replaced the fuse but still not working. The battle is finding a fuse diagram for either the under the hood or under the dash fuse boxes. Im fairly frustrated at this point. Would love to hear if anyone resolved the issue without buying a replacement system. Good luck!

I too am having the same issue with my 2011 Jetta TDI. The radio was working fine. Then the next day it went black. I can power on the radio, but the volume button doesn't move when I turn the volume button or when I press the up/down on the steering wheel. Now my Mute button is stuck on and cant get it off mute. When I power the radio on/off the clock will display but only when I turn off/on again. No sound is coming out of the radio and when I try to tune the radio by turning the channel button it doesn't stop on the channel so i can select it. It keeps scrolling up or down until I power it off and back on again. Is it a fuse or does this require me to bring my car in ?

This is sooo frustrating to read all of these and there are NO ANSWERS! The VW dealer is telling me it will be AT LEAST $150 to diagnose the issue but they do NOT know how to fix this! What the heck? My lights were left on, battery drained, re-charged, all else is fine even the phone connects but NOTHING else. What the heck VW, a dead battery kills the entire console??????????? Nice engineering ya got there!
