I have 2011 Chevrolet Suburban that suddenly read no oil on the dipstick.

Asked by Teresa Oct 09, 2015 at 07:07 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It suddenly came up and said Oil Sensor Low Pressure Turn Engine Off Immediately. I did so. There is no knocking. Could it just be an oil pump or do I need to replace the entire engine?

sounds like you first need to add some oil say 2 qts! before you re start it !!! to at least to get you to or change the filter and oil..........

I don't think she actually checked the oil. She was going by the warnings on the dash. No knocking. This is a common problem on these as there is a screen under the oil pressure sending unit that gets full of sh**. Sending unit needs to come out and the screen fished out and cleaned.
