Car engine Problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my kid has a 2012 Ford mustang.  His engine is
going out. So he's decided to replace it. He just
bought a used 2007 Ford mustang engine.  Will
that work or will he have the same problem?  
According to his manual,  his vehicle is a 3.7 liter
and a V6. Please advise.  Thank you.

The 2007 probably is a 4.0 V6 which is not going to bolt in. Not only that but the 4.0 is a bad engine design. You need a 3.7 from the same year Mustang.

2011 to 2014 Mustangs with a 3.7L will bolt right in. Have him resell the engine he just bought.
