Why wont it stop dying

Asked by Richard Mar 30, 2016 at 05:47 AM about the 1996 Ford Mustang

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I change my alternator and put a brand new
battery in car drove for about 30 min and car
started to die again changed the relay and
fuses and have the same problem so I crank
the car disconnected the positive side on car
and car cuts off

will it start with a jump? take a meter to the battery test battery voltage. should read 12-13v , start the car the voltage should read 13-16v if the voltage doesn't go up then the alternator is shot if the voltage goes up the battery is shot.or needs deep cycle charge
